{"id":7724,"date":"2020-12-09T11:53:55","date_gmt":"2020-12-09T11:53:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/matilde.kina.it\/?page_id=7724"},"modified":"2021-06-07T09:31:53","modified_gmt":"2021-06-07T09:31:53","slug":"research-and-development","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.matildevicenzi.com\/me-en\/group\/research-and-development\/","title":{"rendered":"Research and Development"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The Vicenzi Group prides itself on promoting the Italian tradition of confectionery throughout the world, making every bite sweet and delightful.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">This is why, in their Verona laboratories, the lively<strong> R&amp;D department is constantly proposing new products in line with consumer trends and developments in each country<\/strong>, introducing new flavours and portions to suit to all tastes and needs.<\/p>\n<h2>Product innovation<\/h2>\n<p>For example, so that consumers with special dietary needs can appreciate the taste of Italian confectionery, <strong>in 2017 Vicenzi created a number of lactose- and gluten-free products<\/strong>, in compliance with the standards prescribed by the European Union and guaranteed by Italian Celiac Disease Association (AIC) certification.<\/p>\n<p>Years of research and development have made it possible to create products with an excellent sensory profile: <strong>consumers are not missing out on the \"classic\" recipe <\/strong>in any way.<\/p>\n<p>Then, between 2017 and the beginning of 2018, the Group's offer was enriched with <strong>gluten-free Grisb\u00ec, gluten-free Vicenzovo<\/strong>, <strong>gluten-free soft Amaretto and lactose-free Millefoglie d'Italia puff pastries<\/strong>: products that immediately enjoyed enormous success through word-of-mouth and sales within the coeliac or gluten-intolerant community.<\/p>\n<h2>Increasingly sustainable packaging<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Vicenzi Group has always paid particular attention to packaging<\/strong>: the innovation process aims to reduce environmental impact, while ensuring that the organoleptic properties of the products are maintained. The designs for Vicenzi packaging are based on the following principles:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Prioritising, where possible, the use of <strong>recycled raw materials<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li>Promoting the use of <strong>monomaterials<\/strong> in order to increase the recyclability of packaging through the reduction (where possible) of multi-materials.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Reducing over-packaging<\/strong> to cut down on consumption of packaging material.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Currently, the packaging for the Group's products consists mainly of paper and cardboard cases, plastic trays and tinplate packaging. <strong>In 2019, 70% of the material used for packaging was paper<\/strong>, while 22% was plastic.<\/p>\n<h3>Paper and cardboard<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>70%<\/strong> recycled cardboard<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>30%<\/strong> virgin cardboard<\/p>\n<h3>Plastic<\/h3>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.matildevicenzi.com\/me-en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2020\/12\/egg-carton-2.svg\" alt=\"\" loading=\"lazy\" height=\"91.7\" width=\"512\"><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>80%<\/strong> PET*<br \/>\n<strong>20%<\/strong> polystyrene<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center; font-size: 10px;\">*Transparent packaging: <strong>90%<\/strong> recycled materials<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center; font-size: 10px;\">*Brown packaging: <strong>70%<\/strong> recycled materials<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Over the last three years, Vicenzi has carried out <strong>several important projects that have reduced the environmental impact of its packaging<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">These solutions involve monomaterials (increased recyclability), recycled materials and reducing the amount of plastic used. Constant <b>improvement of the <\/b>various <b>product lines<\/b>. Specific <b>tests to guarantee product features and customer satisfaction<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\">\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\">These are the hallmarks that have consolidated the Group\u2019s excellence in the art of confectionery and upheld the original flavours of its traditional recipes.<\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\">\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><b>By fully automating the production lines<\/b>, managed by artificial intelligence, the Vicenzi Group has, particularly in recent years, not only <b>increased productivity<\/b>, but <b>reduced costs and time<\/b>. Speed and precision: essential for ensuring the best quality products and reducing waste.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<i>The recipe for our research and development?
